Tuesday 17th April - Cappadocia

This morning we got to have a sleep in since we had such a big day yesterday but there were still a few sore heads after last nights drinks and dancing...
Our first destination today was Yeralti Sehri (above) which is an underground city created by the catholics hundresd of years ago when they were in hiding. We only got to see a very small portion of the city, its so huge and the rooms and tunnels are so intertwined its very easy to lose your sense of direction and get lost.

Next stop on todays itinery was a picnic and walk in the Ilhara Valley. This area is very beautiful with huge cliffs which people used to live in lining the river.

The bus met us at the end and took us back to the hotel before we went on to our Turkish Bath.

Where can one begin describing the Turkish Bath experience?... Its grand. You can understand why they are so popular here. Normally one goes nudie but since there's girls and boys in our group we kept our swimmers on. We started off sweating it up in a sauna, periodically dipping into the cold pool for invigoration. Once all shrivelled from the sauna you're taken to another room which has what we called the "hot plate" in the centre. This is basically a raised, tiled centrepiece heated from underneath that we lay on until the scrubber came and took us to another area to exfoliate our skin and give a quick massage. We moved along to another guy after this who soaped you up and gave another massage before we stood in another section to wash ourselves off. The whole process took about an hour including sauna time and after getting our clothes back on and smelling sweet we sat down for some apple tea and couldnt help telling each other how great we felt.
